Dear Parents, We would both like to offer you a very warm welcome to The Crescent Academy. This is a wonderful school and we are very proud to be Principals here. We have such polite and hardworking children and marvellous members of staff. We encourage all of our parents to become a part of our rich and welcoming family. Mr Alston and Mrs Williams
Educational visits are an important part of Crescent life. Staff often take out children to learn about our culture, our history , geography and so much more. Sometimes these visits involve overnight stays but thorough safety checks are always carried out before a visit to ensure the trips are very safe experiences for the children. Risk Assessments can be viewed on this website.
The school has its own forest and children regularly go into the forest for their learning.
School cannot afford to pay for trips and it will ask for a contribution from parents to enable some visits and opportunities to continue. Without parental financial support our trips would not be able to take place.
Every year Crescent takes a group of children from 6 to a European country for an international visit.
Children in Year 5 always go to an Outdoor Education Centre for environmental learning visits.
In Year 4, children are taken to a Youth Hostel for 2 days, to include an overnight stay.
