    Welcome

Dear Parents, We would both like to offer you a very warm welcome to The Crescent Academy. This is a wonderful school and we are very proud to be Principals here. We have such polite and hardworking children and marvellous members of staff. We encourage all of our parents to become a part of our rich and welcoming family. Mr Alston and Mrs Williams

  • School Uniform

We are all very proud of Crescent Red, and it is expected that parents support the school in its uniform policy.

We expect children to be brought into school ready to learn, and so fashion items of clothing, jewellery, footwear or extreme hairstyles are not permitted, as these can prove to be a distraction in the classroom.

The uniform is very simple: Black trousers or skirts; Crescent sweatshirts, with white shirts and black shoes. Our uniform is available to buy at Trutex in Meir.

Our PE kit is very simple: white T-shirt, black shorts and white socks and for outside a tracksuit may be useful during the colder days. Children should have pumps for indoor use and sturdy trainers for outside. Children will be involved in active lessons outside and occasionally this may mean playing football, rugby or hockey on a muddy field!

Children in Year 3,4 and 5 go swimming at some point during the year.

It is expected that every child has PE kit for every PE lesson. Physical Education is an essential part of school life and offers the children an exhilarating way to learn about the need and ways of healthy living.

The only item of jewellery that is acceptable is a small, simple ear stud. All other items can present a safety issue and should therefore be left at home. For PE we would expect that studs would be taken out.

Mobile phones are absolutely unnecessary and should be left at home also. If children bring a phone to school it will be taken off them for safe keeping until the end of the day.
