Year 6 visit to London – Houses of Parliament.

During our visit to London, Year 6 had the remarkable opportunity to merge their studies of Ancient Greece and democracy with a first-hand exploration of the Houses of Parliament. Greeted warmly by our local Member of Parliament, Jack Brereton, Year 6 eagerly participated in an animated question-and-answer session, delving deeply into the intricacies of democratic governance and its historical origins. This dynamic exchange provided invaluable insights into the principles of representation and decision-making, drawing parallels to the democratic ideals upheld by the Ancient Greeks. Following this enriching experience, we then ventured to the London Dungeons, where we were immersed in the darker realms of history, examining the themes of crime and punishment throughout various eras.
