Class Visits

We ended our topic and our time in Year 2 with a great visit to The Runway Visitor Park and Manchester Airport.

We were so excited to sit on a real plane and experience what passengers do as well as see what it is like to be a pilot, flight attendant and police and fire workers. We were amazed at how many switches, dials and buttons there were in the cock pit and were pleased that we were not really in the air.

We got to visit Concorde in its home and walked underneath it to see how big the wheels were- as big as 8 of us in a row! We saw lots of aeroplanes land and take off on the runway but the best by far was the landing of the biggest aeroplane- the air bus- it has 2 floors and made us all gasp as it landed in a cloud of smoke. A brilliant day and lots of us came home wanting to be pilots now!
