RAF Cosford (Y6)
Y6 got off to a flying start at RAF Cosford!
Straight away after half term, our children in Year 6 launched their new History topic of ‘War in My Town’ visiting RAF Cosford. They explored the impact of advancing in warfare to understand the growing role of aviation in World War Two.
We compared fighter aircraft such as the Spitfire and the Messerschmitt and heavy bomber planes such as the Lincoln and the Lancaster. The iconic Spitfire was a huge favourite with our children with its local links to us through its inventor, Stoke-born RJ Mitchell.
The children are excited to begin learning all about war in our town!
