It was the experience of a lifetime for the 38 children from Year 4 and Year 6 that took to international travel in February. With passports at the ready, we headed down to Dover aboard our coach (with the ever reliable and much-loved Tim at the wheel) and crossed the channel aboard the ferry. Finally, we arrived at the sensational Dream Castle where we settled in and were treated to the best buffet we have ever had! On our day in Paris, we experienced the sights and sounds of the phenomenal city, getting stuck into the hustle and bustle. Whilst there, we made our way up the Eiffel Tower to the second level and then took the elevator right to the very top to experience the best views that Paris had to offer! After that, we filled ourselves with a crepe and then headed to the famous Bateaux Mouche boat for a tour of Paris in a different way. Next, we walked the streets and up the Champs Elysees to our destination for tea. Finally, Tim drove us around the Arc de Triomphe and back to Dream Castle for a well-deserved sleep!
Two days of the most fun were also had as we headed to… Disneyland! We experienced everything we could on the first day in the Walt Disney Park: Star Tours, Buzz Lightyear, Orbitron, Dumbo, Pirates of the Caribbean and It’s a Small World to name a few. We even took in a show: Lion King- Rhythms of the Pride Land! We also experienced the Disney Stars on parade and the legendary Disney Tales of Magic firework display after shopping ourselves silly. On Day two, we visited the Disney Studios Park for more fun. There, we flew high on Alladin’s carpets, spun our own webs on the Spiderman ride, slunk around on the Slinkey Dog ride and some of us even took on the RC Racer ride. We all experienced the high-octane action of the Avengers ride and loved it! Some of us faced our fears and took on the Hollywood Tower (Tower of Terror). Very brave indeed! We then relaxed with the Mickey the Magician show before leaving the park.
France, Paris and Disney… you were the best! These memories will live with us forever!
