Over the next 10 weeks, we are going to become volcano and earthquake experts! We will discover how volcanoes are formed, why they erupt and where they can be found around the world. Through exciting practical, sensory and immersive experiences, we will explore rocks, lava, earthquakes and tectonic plates, bringing our learning to life!
In English, we will step into the magical world of Winnie the Witch! We will develop our vocabulary, communication, reading and writing skills as we explore the characters, settings and events in the story. We will practise sequencing events, retelling the story and creating our own descriptions.
In Maths, we will become confident number detectives! We will develop our counting, number recognition, ordering and calculation skills, building on Year 1 objectives alongside key early learning skills. Using hands-on resources such as Numicon, counters and number lines, we will explore numbers in fun ways!
In Science, we will become nature explorers! We will investigate living things and their environments, learning how to identify, sort and group animals and plants. We will explore different habitats and discover what living things need to survive, developing our understanding through hands-on investigations.
