Class Visits

This week Year 1 went on their first educational visit in year 1 to The Brampton Museum in Newcastle.

We were sprinkled with magic dust and taken back in time to Victorian times to meet Amelia and William, two children who had lost their favourite toy soldiers- Major Glad and Major Dizzy.

First we got to design and make a new toy for William using lots of modern materials from the present day. Then Amelia let us play with some of her toys in the play room- we saw yo yo's, jacob ladders, spinning tops and many more.

Then we went on a Teddy bear hunt in and around shops from the past. We found so many bears and ticked them off on our clip boards.

We finished our day by going down into the cellar to see where the maid does the washing and would you believe it.....we found Major Glad and Major Dizzy! A fantastic day using some of our History vocabulary past, present, timeline and old.
